Salma Hayek is a talented and beautiful actress, director, and producer. She began her career in Mexico in Teresa and went on to films like Wild Wild West and more recently Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2.
If you are a movie buff, then you probably know that actors have to either gain or lose weight and even tone up depending on what type of role they have to play. Salma Hayek starred as the main character in the movie Everly. Her character was a former Yakuza “soldier” who is pushed to her limit in order to keep her family safe and she takes no prisoners as she unleashes vengeance against a mob boss and his army of assassins. This action packed thriller required her to be in great shape physically and she is the first to admit she is not a fan of exercising.
“I don’t like exercising, although I did try to get in shape before we started filming ‘Everly,'” Hayek told Total Film. “When you spend your time chasing your daughter you also do a lot of sports, so I managed pretty well,”
When asked how she felt about her character, Hayek said, “It’s always exciting to bring a tough woman to life. Women can be very tough on a day to day basis even though we sometimes don’t demonstrate it. These types of stories can be very inspiring for everyone who has ever felt frustrated and dominated in a situation of abuse they didn’t know how to escape.”
“You also get a kick out of playing a really tough woman.”
