Slow Cooked Country Style Pork Ribs

Who says you have to wait until summer to lick your fingers after a good barbecue meal? Get the family excited with this easy country-style pork ribs recipe.

Slow Cooked Country Style Pork Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs. boneless pork loin ribs
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons chicken stock or water
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme

Directions

1. Season both sides of pork ribs with salt and pepper. Add to slow cooker. In a saucepan on medium-high, add ketchup and next 10 ingredients. Mix well and allow to heat for 5 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

2. Add homemade barbecue sauce to ribs in slow cooker. Use a spatula to evenly distribute. Add chicken stock or water. Sprinkle dried thyme on top.

3. Turn slow cooker on low, cover and cook for 4-6 hours or until tender—turning over pork ribs after 2-3 hours. Note: Add a little water if the pork starts sticking to the pot.

Serve with rice (optional).
