Organizations for Girls:

Black Girls Code is an organization based in San Francisco, CA and founded by Kimberly Bryant.  The mission of Black Girls Code is to “ increase the number of women of color in the digital space by empowering girls of color ages 7 to 17 to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities, and builders of their own futures through exposure to computer science and technology.” This organization has been instrumental in closing the gap by introducing girls of color to the world of technology by hosting numerous events that teach computer programming. This summer Black Girls Code have teamed up with Verizon and Break the Cycle and they will be hosting hackathons in New York, Oakland and New Orleans.
