Black Twitter Talks: Ray Rice, Obama and Ferguson WalkOut

December 2, 2014  |

As usual, it’s been a busy weekend in the land of Black Twitter. Although we celebrated a holiday, that didn’t stop users from mixing it up about politics, football, pop culture, and the continued anti-police brutality protests around the country.

In case you haven’t been keeping up with the conversations, here’s what’s been going down.

Ray Rice Is Reinstated

Former Baltimore Ravens star Ray Rice was reinstated over the weekend when a judge overturned his indefinite suspension by the league after a video surfaced of him punching his then-fiancé. Although Rice is free to play, it remains to be seen if a team will pick him up. In the meantime, Rice seems to be on a mission to reform his image, and in recent days both he and his wife have given high-profile interviews. Of course, the news that Rice can rejoin the league garnered very strong (and very mixed) reviews by Twitter users.
