Queen Latifah is definitely a Jane of all trades. Rapper, actress, producer, and director are just a few of her many accolades. The Queen Collection Covergirl spokeswoman had the amazing opportunity to launch The Queen Latifah Show on September 16th 2013. It was by far, the most successful new talk show launch of the 2013-14 season with more than 1.5 million viewers per show and now the show has come to an end in its second season.

TMZ sources said they were told production will be coming to a halt and that the staff was brought into an office Friday AM and given the news. The honchos weren’t specific but it’s all about ratings and cost according to TMZ.

The show definitely had its ups with reports during a May sweep that said Latifah was the highest rated talk show newcomer in syndication with nearly twice the household rating of its closest rivals, while scoring double digit increases from the previous sweep in all key demographics. Her daytime, entertainment talk show, showcased her extraordinary range of talents and was produced by Flavor Unit, Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television.

Queen Latifah took to Facebook to post a personal note to her staff :

“Thank you for your strong work ethic and great effort in getting The Queen Latifah Show off the ground and running. Your dedication and sacrifice was crucial to the entire team, and in the face of intense challenges, you displayed “True Grit”! Your Family, Partners, Staff and Crew showed up with you every step of the way. Be very proud of that! Not everyone can say the same. You can also say you have been a blessing to and been blessed by amazing guests and incredible audiences for this show. We truly changed people’s lives for the better. So… STAY POSITIVE, STAY STRONG, and most importantly, STAY OPEN… There is so much more God has in store!”
P.S. This letter is for me, my staff, my crew, and everyone who was by my side for this incredible journey. The most important thing in life is that you wake up every single day and take chances. No matter what the outcome…believe in yourself and continue to fly.”

If you were a fan of the show, original episodes will air until March 2015 on CBS-owned stations so don’t miss it.

Her work in entertainment has earned her a Golden Globe award, two Image Awards, a Grammy Award, six additional Grammy nominations, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, an Emmy Award nomination, and an Academy Award nomination so we look forward to seeing what this talented beauty has in store next.
