10 Times Chris Rock Kept it Too Real

April 2, 2015  |

Chris Rock is hands down one of the greatest comedians of all time. He has a high pitched voice, tells a story, and paces back and forth across the stage in a way in which you literally have follow along with him until he stands still and gives the punchline. What makes Chris Rock great is that he often puts the mirror up to society in a manner in which very few are offended. There’s always someone who is; but more than likely they don’t get the joke–even when it is delivered in a palatable manner.

One of Chris Rock’s Saturday Night Live moments was met with mixed reviews. Many -myself included- felt he slayed. Others felt like his comments comparing the New York Marathon to the Boston one was insensitive, talking about commercializing 9/11 like Christmas, and calling it arrogant by putting a skyscraper in the same place where terrorists ran into buildings. But was he wrong? No. That’s the charm in Chris Rock…he tells the truth and doesn’t really care what people think. We just laugh along with it.
