Throwback Thursday: 10 “Good-Bad” Movies We Love

Pootie Tang

One of the best segments on The Chris Rock Show was the Pootie Tang segments.  The premise that there is the musician who doesn’t speak English yet everyone understands and loves him was great.  There would always be a moment in which no one understood him and then he would get upset explaining himself.  Eventually he’d say one word different and everyone would go “Oh!  I understand you, now!”  Of course it got the movie treatment.  Pootie Tang wasn’t meant to be mentally stimulating.  It was made for cheap laughs (Pootie Tang was born in a small town called…Chicago).  He saved the world as he wappa taa’d the bammies.  When you take it for face value it’s great.  Watch Pootie Tang on a bad day and I’m sure you’ll feel a little better.  The charm: Pootie Tang’s belt that was given to him by his father gives him the power to whoop anyone’s ass.
