Everyone had their signature in the 90’s. Tennis star sisters made cornrows/braids adorned with beads theirs. These champions are the perfect image of black girls rock. We’ve followed their career for many years and watched their evolution. For our throwback post today we decided to take it to the beginning of when the girls rocked the cultural style and made it desirable for every girl. They were naturally beautiful.

Venus recently admitted that she loves to keep it natural, even now.

Actually, I don’t like hair and make up at all. I’m really kind of a natural girl. Maybe some mascara, but I’m too lazy for that. I like to hope that my own looks come through. Once you get glammed up, it’s fun, of course, but I don’t enjoy the process.

While Serena loves designing clothes…

I love designing dresses and tops. I went to fashion school, and I’m starting to have to do bags and stuff, and I didn’t do bags in school because my whole thing was dresses. I even did menswear. Bags have been super challenging for me. But it’s fun. I’m also starting a jewelry line. Its going to be part of Aneres. It’s Indian jewelry. It’s fine, expensive, fashion jewelry, but it’s not overpriced. Something like this [she points to a massive silver bracelet with green jewels on her wrist] would be, like, tens of thousands of dollars, but mine is priced a lot less. Finer jewelry, but affordable fine jewelry. I can’t wear fake jewelry because I break out. And I was like, “There are probably a lot of people like that, so I should start a jewelry collection too.”
