John Legend has been on a heart-touching roll with his latest music videos. From “All of Me” to the recent release of “You & I (Nothing in the World)” Legend is showing his love and appreciation for the ladies and we are loving it. We are constantly looking for jams that are cool for the kids ears as well and Legend has put on the loving just right with his empowering “You & I.” This is one you may actually want to sit your teenage girl down for the video too!

In a world where a women’s beauty is sadly still often compared to unattainable standards, Legend highlights the beauty and perfections of every woman in her own right. The video also features a few celebrity cameos including Legend’s wife Chrissy Tegen and history-making Emmy nominee Lavern Cox.

Everyday women including a teen with vitiligo, an older woman revealing scars from a mastectomy and a young girl with down syndrome all share a moment in the mirror.

We can all remember moments standing in the mirror and not necessarily loving what we see, rather a few extra pounds, wider hips or just hair gone wrong. Sometimes all it takes is a moment to stop and really appreciate you. The beauty in the hello of a mirror, in the imperfections that make you unique and beautiful.

Expecting mothers, cancer survivors, little ones, teens, athletes in all shapes, sizes and colors share this moment with us as R&B crooner sings:

“You fix your make up, just so. Guess you don’t know, that your beautiful. Try on every dress that you own. You were fine in my eyes, a half hour ago. If you’re mirror won’t make it any clearer, I ‘ll be the one to let you know, out of all of the girls, you’re my one and only girl, ain’t nobody in the world tonight. All of the stars, you make them shine like they were ours. ”

Legend has said with this video he aimed to promote positive body image and raise money for charities focused on women and girls via the singer’s own #OperationGirl campaign.

Watch the video and let’s talk about self love… or better yet show it.
