After quite some time out of the limelight, Kim Fields returns on screen. After shocking the public with her announcement of an unplanned pregnancy last year, the 45-year-old is a new mommy and aside from diaper duty the actress has been busy filming her newest project, For Better or For Worse, airing next week on the Hallmark channel. The film is an adaptation of Diann Hunt’s bestselling novel by the same name.
Not only is this a return to the acting world for Fields, but it is too a reunion of sorts as she stars alongside Lisa Whelchel, also of Facts of Life fame, in the comedic television movie. Both women star as successful wedding planners, a business Whelchel’s character attained from her family.
“To have Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields reunite is a big TV event,” Hallmark’s Executive Vice President of Programming, Michelle Vicary, said in a statement. “Hallmark Channel is the perfect place to see these iconic stars together again.”
Here’s the official breakdown of the movie:
Wendy (Whelchel) is finally starting to settle into the single life after struggling with the death of her husband. After a difficult season of grief, she’s taken over the family business of coordinating the town’s most beautiful and memorable weddings with the help of her friend and co-worker Roseanne (Fields). However, when the charming and incredibly irritating Marco (Cupo) opens a legal practice that specializes in divorces right next to her wedding chapel, Wendy is going to make sure that she stops at nothing to promote her business and the sanctity of marriage. Along the way, Wendy learns that self-discovery and moving on are the ways to finding true happiness.
For Better or For Worse airs next Saturday, July 19th on the Hallmark Channel.
