The Kids Room: 12 Cool Bunk Beds
So my daughter is an only child but is begging for a bunk bed. At eight-years-old she’s imagining epic sleepovers and a younger sibling (!) to take up that space. I’m thinking a bunch of pillows and stuffed animals would have a great place to stay. Period.
Anyway, in checking out the different bunk bed offerings that are out there, I found that bunk beds are not the boring, old designs that they were back in the day when my younger brother and I shared one. They’re still made of wood or metal, but they also are constructed in a way that they’re not only functional but fun. I’ve seen versions, at places like Ikea that have a bunk bed on the top level, but down below there’s room for a desk or even a mini-living room for your kids to lounge in and relax. But there’s also bunk beds which have the bed on the bottom and the upper area is just for play. Keep in mind that these are not the best options for smaller children, but it provides a play area for their imaginations to run wild (as long as they can handle being high up). We’ve done the research so you don’t have to—here are 10 cool bunk beds your kids will love
