June 20, 2014  |

Today’s birthday beauty is Tika Sumpter! The hollywood actress turns 34 and we are celebrating her by marveling at 11 of her most fabulous hair  moments. And you know she’s got tons of them! Tika born Euphemia Sumpter became a familiar face for many in 2010 when she got a role in the film  Stomp the Yard: Homecoming. She was in the film alongside Terrence J, Pooch Hall and Columbus Short. Since then, the Queens native has enjoyed success in films such as Salt, Think Like a Man and Sparkle. Here at Mommynoire, we are saying keep up the great work, we love seeing our sisters shine!

Tika also got a small role in an upcoming James Brown biography, she had this to say about it:

It’s a small role; I play one of his love interests in real-life, Yvonne Fair. I actually spoke to friends of her’s and people who were around her at the time [Fair passed away in 1994] and I looked online at her performances, which were sickening. She was strong, she could sing and as a protégé of James, Yvonne actually cut ‘I Feel Good’ first before he re-cut it the way he wanted it to sound. She was definitely a powerful force—he had a lot of women around and she still tried to play it off like she was the only one, and at the end of the day, she really wanted to be a star.

Wow! We can’t wait to see Tika nail the role of Yvonne Fair. The film is set to be released on August 1, 2014 titled Get on Up. Chadwick Boseman known for playing Jackie Robinson will play James Brown.
