Home Invastion: Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson’s New “No Good Deed” Thriller
The ladies man is back, but this time around Idris Elba won’t be pulling all the sexiness out (well not purposely), he’s striking fear instead of passion. In the new forthcoming thriller “No Good Deed” prepare to have your heart-racing as psychopath killer Elba threatens the safety of co-star Taraji P. Henson.
This is the first role we see Elba play the sure-fire bad guy and it’s nice to see the switch. And well, the shower scene albeit scary for Taraji’s character is a nice add in the trailer for us! Henson plays, Terri, a devoted wife and mother who prepares to be a good samaritan to Elba as he arrives on her front door on a stormy night asking to use her phone due to a car accident he’s been in. Elba’s character, Colin, who is an escaped felon, puts on all the charm as Terri leaves him at the front door to grab the phone. But, he has disappeared as soon as she makes it back to the door.
Here is where the menacing action picks up. Terri is alone with her young daughter when Elba sets off on a terror spree. From cut phone cards to posting on her daughter’s bed tossing the little one up and down, Elba captures a side of him we haven’t seen. Colin is referred to as a “malignant narcissist” whose “acts of rage frequently involve the attention of a woman.” Elba certainly captures all of the above in his focus on the new woman, Terri.
The movie reunites Elba with director Sam Miller who directed many episodes of Luther. “No Good Deed” is written by Aimee Lagos and produced by Will Packer and Lee Clay. In addition to starring, Elba also served as an executive producer.
