In yet another attempt to save his estranged marriage with his high school sweetheart, Paula Patton, Robin Thicke has used his newest album to convey his true feelings about their current situation.
The album, Paula, is said to hit stores July 1st, nearly six months after their February split. In a move that could rank of one the most public breakup apologies in recent past, the “Blurred Lines” singer, 37, named the first single off this, his seventh studio album, “Get Her Back,” a tribute to his wife of almost one decade.
Since the announcement of heir separation, Paula, 38, has remained relatively mum about the details leading up to their split and if there’s any chance for reconciliation, except for her comments in a recent Vanity Fair interview, “All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there—always was, and always will be.”
It is widely speculated, however, that Paula had enough after her husband’s risqué on-stage performance with Miley Cyrus at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which Paula reportedly “went ballistic” over. That incident, followed by pictures hitting the net of the R&B crooner getting cozy with other females hit the web.
Whatever the case, Robin isn’t giving up hope on his decades-long love affair this yet. Earlier this year he dedicated a song to Paula, just days after the announcement of their separation saying, “For ya’ll that don’t know, me and my wife separated, but I’m trying to get my girl back.”
His album titling seems like a last ditch effort to win over his true love, with whom he shares a four-year-old son, Julian Fuego.
With his next major performance just weeks away at the June 29th BET Awards, we’re sure Mr. Thicke will hold nothing back as he hits the stage to perform his newest music.
Good luck with that, Rob! We’d love to see a happily ever after come out of this.
