Halle Berry’s ex-beau, French-Canadian model, Gabriel Aubry will be receiving $16,000 a month from the beloved beauty in child support for their six-year-old daughter Nahla. According to People, a Los Angeles court ruled that the Academy-Award winning actress must fork over $192,000 a year. Aubrey will receive child support until Nahla graduates high school or turns 19.
But that isn’t all, Berry will also be paying a lump sum retroactive payment of $115,000 and all of Aubry’s legal fees that total close to $300,000 reported TMZ.
Berry and Aubrey’s custody battle has gone on for years now and while Berry might find some relief that it is over, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind a retrial either (sans paying Aubrey’s legal fees).
Nahla is Berry’s first child and the rumors had been high over the years, claiming Halle attempted to keep Nahla away from father as she planned to move across country. However, court documents show the couple share equal custody.
Berry has another child, Maceo, by current Parisian husband Olivier Martinez. Martinez is also no fan of Berry’s ex, as Aubrey and Martinez exchanged blows two years ago that left Aubrey’s picture perfect face not so flash-worthy.
While Berry is certainly a superstar, not all of her recent movies have garnered the box office reaction one would hope for.
We wish this Momma the best in her co-parenting journey and hope the Martinez marriage fairs much butter.
Ladies, what do you think? Should Halle have to pay child support? If so, is $190,000/year too much or just enough?
