It was a sad weekend when fans learned that “The Arsenio Hall Show,” which was originally taken off the air in 1994, did not survive it’s 21st century come back. After just one season, the show surprisingly received the axe. The network not only cancelled his show but has refused to tape a season finale, in other words, there will be no good-bye show and production has immediately stopped allegedly due to low ratings.
Back in September, reports on the progress of Arsenio’s comeback glowed. Ratings were good and viewers were happy with the late-night gabfest. According to The New York Post, his numbers were “solid.” The 58-year-old brought on Black stars to shine; even if they weren’t A-listers, everyone had a chance on his couch. He even had progressive poetry done by young black poets that were helping to dispel the fallacy that black fathers do not take care of their children. Now, suddenly just after one season. The show is gone?
