New Music: Beyonce’s “Standing On The Sun” and “Dreams”

- By

We’re not even going to get into the “how does she do it?’ musings here. Nope. We can all agree that Beyoncé has a stylist, people to do her hair, makeup, nails, watch her baby when she’s slaying a stage, clean the house in order to be able to juggle all of the things she does, but mama does work. She was just named the highest-paid Black artist of all time. But what she does do expertly is deliver music, and her latest release is “Standing on the Sun.”

Featured last year in an H&M campaign, “Standing On The Sun” was figured as her next single (a whole year ago) but it never surfaced in full…until now.

We’d love to see the video for this (too bad it didn’t make it on her surprise visual album, Beyoncé), but turn-up the island vibes and enjoy.

Oh, and while we were writing this, another track featuring Blue Ivy’s mom has been released by BOOTS, the powerhouse producer behind a major part of Bey’s visual album. From his forthcoming project, WinterSpringSummerFall, “Dreams” is a sleepy, well dreamy, love song. Beyoncé comes in for the later part of the song to do some vocalization, but it’s no “Rocket.” Very sexy, it’s not a turn the volume up and dance around the house kinda song…more like an after-hours laid-back, thinking about that special someone kind of song. Get it, mama?

The On The Run Tour featuring Bey and hubby Jay Z kicks off in June, we can’t wait to see what that brings!
