Mommy Mash Up: Dr. Heavenly of “Married To Medicine” Loves Being Submissive
The age old idea many of us grew up with – wives submit yourselves to your husband – is taking up new residence in “Married To Medicine” star Dr. Heavenly’s home and she’s not ashamed to speak on it.
“I submit to my husband. I make my husband’s food. I take care of the household. I understand my role as a wife and a mother,” Dr. Heavenly Kimes told Sister 2 Sister – her husband is also a doctor.
Take a look at Dr. Heavenly – an author, inspirational speaker and business powerhouse possessing not only PhD credentials but a real estate license, insurance license, three kids, four dogs and a 15+ year marriage.
So, maybe there’s something to a woman playing the submissive role?
Heavenly’s “Married To Medicine” co-star Dr. Simone Whitmore raised a few brows when Dr. Heavenly called her hubby “Daddy.” Dr. Whitmore jokingly added she only heard that term as women spoke to their pimp in the movie Hustle & Flow.
“I thought that was cute,” said Heavenly to S2S who explained that her husband and son have the same name. “When my son was born, I would say ‘Damon’ and both of them would answer.”
Dr. Heavenly says she’s proud to show viewers how she respects her husband and what a happy marriage looks like.
“Black women need to see a woman who takes care of a household, who’s married with children and that’s not seen a whole lot,” said Heavenly who thinks she and her “Married to Medicine” co-stars are offering a positive portrayal of a demographic that’s often depicted negatively.
All the single ladies, once he puts a ring on it will you be ready to submit? All the marvelously married women, is this the secret to a successful marriage?
