Does Social Media Make Us Bad Parents?

We all know we probably spend too much on our phones, but is social media affecting parenting? Some experts say yes, parents are too distracted by their social networks to be the best parents they can be.

The argument is that people who can’t put their phones down are people who aren’t teaching their kids how to interact with people. That’ll lead to a generation of people who can’t read facial expressions or know how to act when their social lives are offline.

The technology leads to distracted parenting argument is probably a little valid, but it’s not everything. People who are good, attentive parents know they need to put their needs aside–that goes for Instagram, too.

Do you think some people spend too much time playing with their smartphones, tablets and laptops to really focus on their kids?
