Babies are expensive. This seems to be the common lamentation of my married and childless friends. Saving for a baby is a major concern, and with a more finite timeline than saving for a house. Hello, biological clock, we hear you ticking.
Currently, I am 6 months pregnant with my second child. My son is almost 18 months old and will be 22 months when his little sister is born. We planned for my son, and always wanted more children, but didn’t plan on being pregnant this early. In planning for my son, we squirreled away money religiously, saving for all the expenditures babies require, from cribs to car seats, to the never-ending supply of diapers and wipes.
I’m frugal, and also enjoy saving. My husband, not so much. Hey, opposites attract, right? Luckily, I have found sneaky ways to save! By sneaky, I mean that these tactics are painless, and my spendthrift husband doesn’t even consider it actively “saving” since that can be a stressful word to some.
