Last year, the students of color at Lakeville South High School got fed up with the way their peers were treating them. According to the the Star Tribune, the Minnesota students made the video at the end of the last school year to show to the students at the beginning of this year. They speak to their classmates, asking them to stop making their race, ethnicity or appearance the punchline to their jokes (though truth be told, we don’t feel all that sorry for the redheaded white kid). They put the whole thing so succinctly: “It’s not that we want to ignore our differences; it’s just a matter of respect.”
