UPDATED: According to Atlanta’s Channel 2 Action News has reported Ayvani Perez has been found alive. One suspect has been arrested. The girl’s condition hasn’t been released.
Yesterday, a crime that seemed like it was copied straight from a latest thriller rocked a Georgia town. Ayvani Hope Perez, 14, was torn from her mother’s arms during an armed robbery at their Clayton County home, reports the Daily Mail. The two robbers are now demanding $10,000 ransom for the return of the teen, despite finding no money or jewelry at the home.
Two men rushed into the family’s home just a month after Perez and her mother moved to the neighborhood. The girl’s family have been trying to raise the $10,000, though they have no idea where the money will come from. Ayvani’s community held a vigil of about 150 people last night.
Our hearts go out to the family during this incredibly tough time.
