UPDATED August 26, 2913: Last week, police arrested 16-year-old Demetruis Glenn, one of the boys seen on a security camera beating an 88-year-old man to death. NBC reports they’ve also taken Kenan Adams-Kinard, also 16, into custody. Glenn turned himself in and will be charged as an adult. Adams-Kinard spent four days in hiding until tips helped police locate him.

Reading the headlines this week has felt like something out of A Clockwork Orange. Three teenagers randomly shot a runner because they were bored and now a teenager has been arrested for beating a World War II veteran earlier this week for seemingly no reason at all.

Eighty-eight-year-old Delbert Benton, called Shorty by his friends, was sitting in his car near his favorite pool hall in Spokane, Washington. Surveillance video caught two teenagers running away from Benton’s car; he died in the hospital the following day. Police have since detained one suspect and are looking for a second.
