Parents Change Diaper on Starbucks Seat, Dump Coffee on Floor
Diaper emergencies are a big part of being a parent; babies just don’t care if there’s a bathroom around. Two parents recently found themselves in a tough situation when their Starbucks didn’t have a changing table available. Things got ugly when a small inconvenience ended up with a call to the police, reported a local Denver TV station.
Ruth and Alex Burgos made do and changed their baby’s diaper out in the open. They said a passing Starbucks employee gave them a rag and told them to clean up when they were finished in a “demeaning” tone. Apparently, that employee started talking and laughing with another about the incident. Alex got angry and poured his venti coffee on the floor, and a heated argument followed. Eventually, the police were called.
According to Denver’s KSDK, “Starbucks spokesperson Jaime Riley says the company is ‘concerned,’ has ‘apologized to the Burgos family,’ and wants all customers treated with ‘dignity and respect.'” But given that having urine and feces so close to food is a big no-no, do the Burgos’ deserve this kind of apology?
