Quick Read: New Study: Alcohol Increases Your Risk Of Cancer

February 15, 2013  |

Be honest – being a parent can be overwhelming. Let’s just say it can be one of the hardest jobs you have ever done.  Between the constant cries, fussiness and diaper changes, your world can easily go in haywire – in a matter of seconds.  Me time, is at minimum, and often the only way for many to calm down is by having that innocent drink. Yes, that subtle glass of wine, or cocktail right after the little ones are asleep. Its not just you.

A new study shows that even one drink daily increases your risk of cancer.

According to Huffington Post:

Researchers from the National Cancer Institute found that alcohol-related cancer accounted for 3.5 percent of all cancer deaths in the United States in 2009 — and even light and moderate drinkers were at significant risk. The link between cancer and alcohol consumption has been established by previous studies, but this new study quantifies the risk, death rates, and years of life lost in a way previously unseen.

Interesting fact: Breast Cancer is the leading form of cancer for women, and the leading forms for men are oral and prostate cancers. These risks can increase when over 40 grams of alcohol are consumed per day.
