Gucci Photoshop Fail!

December 17, 2012  |

Gucci is being ‘bashed’ for a recent purse ad that exposed a Photoshop error. Professional model, Joan Smalls, appears to be sporting a strange extra limb in a campaign for Gucci’s spring collection. The offending photograph was discovered in an issue of American Express Departures magazine by the watchdog website Photoshop Disasters, and it’s certainly a sight to see. Fashion blog Stylelite had a different explanation; they are suggesting that model Joan Smalls’ waist and legs had been detached and moved several inches to the right.

“This is the first time we’ve seen a model’s hips actively moved several inches to the side and then her leg whittled down to something the circumference of her already slender arms”.

Eureka! This was a great reminder that you should believe only half of what you see and none of what you hear. Don’t get caught up in the hype of what the media portrays as beauty. As I pull on my workout tights to continue on my journey toward less pounds and a more toned body, it’s nice to be reminded that these women between the pages of magazines are virtually not real. Just the thought that they too have tiny pockets of cellulite on the side of their thighs gives me nothing but sheer joy and pleasure.

Yes, I’m slightly hating, but media would love for us to believe that the women who grace the magazines are simply perfect – not in this case.
