Green Hair, Don’t Care! Celebs Whose Tresses Were Green With Envy
For the past few years, pastel hair color has been all the rage. We’ve seen celebs rock their hair in hues from silver to pink and purple, but lately, green has been in demand. Here are some celebs who’ve had their hair dipped in green dye.
As Kylie Jenner has gotten older, the youngest sister in the reality show clan has experimented with her looks and hair. Last year, she stepped out of an L.A. salon with a freshly dyed emerald green and black ‘do. Just last week the youngest Jenner had her famous locks dyed pastel blue.
If there’s anything Amber Rose is known for, it’s her big booty and her very short blond haircut. But every once in a while Rose will switch up her look by dyeing her hair a different color. She recently dipped her locks in green dye and sported a bit of a wavy flat top. Rose has also rocked pink hair, and this past Easter, her hair was a festive and bright blue.
It’s not uncommon to change your hair color for a new season. Singer Ke$ha welcomed summer by dyeing her hair a color people who grew up watching Nickelodeon may recognize: slime green. The “Timber” singer first debuted the shocking color back in May on Instagram. Having a head full of bright hair is nothing new for Ke$ha. She’s dyed her hair almost every color imaginable but always returns to blond.
Forget Kelis’ milkshake! Her vibrant green and blue hair brought the boys, and the girls, to the yard. The eclectic singer has always expressed her individuality through her appearance, and her hair has been no exception. Kelis has rocked her hair in a multitude of styles and colors, but her most memorable one is perhaps this green and blue curly ‘do.
Rocker Avril Lavigne was ahead of the trend. She first dyed her tresses green back in 2011 and sported them in the “Smile” video. Eventually, Lavigne let some of her hair return to its original blond color. She also added streaks of hot pink to the ends while still sporting the green.
When it comes to hair colors, Nicki Minaj has certainly tried them all. As she rose to the top of the rap game, the Young Money MC wore many wigs. For her, the brighter, the better. She also rocked wigs in various eye-catching styles and appeared on the red carpet one day with a half green, half blond wig that was reminiscent of the bride of Frankenstein.
Willow Smith is barely a teenager, but she’s had plenty of experience trying to find and embrace her identity. Willow changes up her looks so much, we hardly batted an eye when her short, curly ‘fro went from blonde to bright green. The young starlet debuted her look on her Instagram page in 2012.
Lil Mama showed up at the 2013 American Music Awards and made everyone green with envy. The pint-sized rapper paired her naturally green eyes with her bright green hair, styled into a bob. Lil Mama later added a new shade to her hair, sporting a slightly longer blue and green ‘do.
Azealia Banks has been a fan of green hair for quite some time now. The Harlem rapper hit the stage in London at Liverpool’s O2 Academy in 2012 with long, green, wavy locks flowing all the way down her back. Banks has also rocked auburn and purple hair, but she always goes back to black.
Jenna Jameson made quite the fashion statement when she showed up in Las Vegas to celebrate her 39th birthday in 2013. The former porn- star-turned actress worked the red carpet in a slinky and sheer panel, white and black skintight leather dress. Half of her hair was shaved off, à la Cassie style, and what wasn’t cut off, was dyed green.
Katy Perry often keeps her look fun and bright. The “Fireworks” singer usually keeps her hair dark brown but when she adds color, she really adds color. Last year Perry lightened her hair up a bit by dyeing it a mossy green with dark roots.
Kate Bosworth decided to brighten up her look just a bit. The Still Alice star added just a bit of mint green to the ends of her blond hair. Because the mint green was so light, the color soon faded.
The model and native New Yorker has been dyeing her hair in all types of shades and colors since she was in high school. When Norgaard first started her modeling career, she went blond, but eventually she grew bored of the look and went back to dyeing her hair herself every few weeks.
