If you’re going to be staying for an extended period of time, be mindful of the money you may be costing your host. Unless you’re staying at Oprah’s house, economics may be a factor when you measure the extra water, gas and electricity you may be using or the food you’ll be eating. Ask your host if you can contribute financially during your stay. S/he may say no, but buying some extra groceries won’t hurt either.
