Raven-Symoné Doesn’t Give A Damn About Black Twitter: “I Don’t Pay Attention”
Overall, Black Twitter is not crazy about Raven-Symoné or her controversial views on certain hot-button topics. However, apparently, there’s no love lost because the former child star insists that she’s isn’t checking for Black Twitter.
“I don’t even pay attention. Someone else told me that they were mad,” the freshman daytime TV host told “Essence Live.”
She went on to say that she is not phased by people who are angry about her unpopular opinions.
“Again, I said this to this girl the other day at a photo shoot who came to me and was like, ‘I don’t like what you said about Black people.’ I only speak for myself. Only for myself. I’m sorry that you’re mad about how I feel. There are so many things going on in the world, and I think people kind of need to just look at the bigger picture as a society because we are all on this earth together.”
“It’s just me. I’ve never said, ‘I’m speaking for an entire people,” she continued. “I’ve never said that out of my mouth. People just take it upon themselves to think that we say that. I’m only speaking for myself through my experiences. My experiences are different from yours, so how I can speak on your behalf?”
The 29-year-old also shared that she didn’t have much anxiety about joining the show.
“I wasn’t nervous per se. My mom gave me some good advice. She was like, ‘Opinions are like a-holes, everybody has one.’ So I have my own, and I respect others as well.”
