Grammy-award winner Jill Scott is paving the way for gifted, inner-city students to follow their creative path to success with a new scholarship program spearheaded for artistic minds.

The talented singer/songwriter’s foundation, Blues Babe, is teaming up with Hallmark’s Mahogany brand in a collaborative effort to award meritorious college students who are interested in a career in writing arts.

“My love and passion for writing is reflected in my music and my poetry and I am sincerely grateful that Mahogany decided to partner with the Blues Babe Foundation to help nurture young creative minds,” Scott said in a press release.

Two students who are currently enrolled in college have a chance to be awarded the $10,000 scholarships. Both winners will also be given an invitation for an all-expenses paid workshop with Mahogany’s writing team that will allow them to sharpen their writing skills over a three-day period. Recipients will be selected by Blues Babe and Mahogany representatives.

“To be able to give inner-city students the opportunity to receive a scholarship and pursue a career in writing is phenomenal,” Scott said.

And hey — the winner might be you! So what are you waiting for? Click here to apply for the scholarship.
