Former MLB Star Darryl Hamilton Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide
Former Major League Baseball star Darryl Hamilton, 50, and his girlfriend, Monica Jordan, 44, were found dead Jordan’s Pearland, Texas home Sunday afternoon, KHOU reports.
Police were called by neighbors who reported a domestic disturbance. After arriving at the scene minutes later, they discovered Hamilton’s body in the doorway of the home located on the 11500 block of Island Breeze. He suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Jordan, whose body was discovered in another area of the home, had a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“At this point it does not appear that there was any kind of struggle. The incident occurred just inside the front door,” said Lieutenant Onesimo Lopez.
The couple’s 14-month old son, Jaxon, was also found in the home. He, however, was unharmed. Child Protective Services escorted the infant away from the scene. Authorities are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide. Investigators are still unsure about what led to the incident.
According to a neighbor, Jordan lived in the home with her three children, two of them a previous relationship. Hamilton played 13 seasons as a Major League Baseball outfielder. After retiring from the league, he worked as an analyst for the MLB Network.
