Imitation Of Life: NAACP Leader Rachel Dolezal Pretends To Be Black
Her parents have said that young man she calls her son is actually her adopted brother.

Rachel is the butt of many jokes on social media, as you can see by some of these tweets. But honestly, I feel a bit sorry for her. Lying about who you are is not only unnecessary, it also speaks to a lack of self worth. It’s a shame Rachel felt the need to take on a false identity, for whatever reason. And I agree with her mother, what we need from White people is not for them to identify with the type of oppression we face; because honestly, most of them will never understand. What we need, and what Dolezal seemed to be attempting to do, was White allies who recognize, on some level, that there injustices and work to combat them. It’s unfortunate that she didn’t feel comfortable doing those things as herself because now her name and her work has been undermined by her deceit.
What do you make of Rachel Dolezal?
