Unfortunately, Mariah Carey’s Las Vegas residency isn’t off to the best start. The 45-year-old icon was recently forced to cancel a concert after facing some medical complications.
According to Carey, doctors advised her to rest her voice after a recent bronchitis flare up. The cancellation was announced on Instagram. The statement reads:
Hey guys.. I’ve been fighting bronchitis for the past few days.. almost better but on mandatory vocal rest per doctor’s orders. I’m so sorry to cancel tonight’s show but I promise to make it up to you!!! Love you always, MC
It sucks that Mimi is feeling under the weather, but hopefully she will be back on her feet soon. From what we hear, she has been wowing fans with her residency. According to a source, over at Page Six, the “Heartbreaker” singer’s opening performances went amazingly well. They also shared that Miss Mimi seemed very “comfortable onstage,” and “vocally, she was on fire.”
This, of course, is great to hear considering that she received a ton of negative reviews following a string of embarrassing performances prior to her residency.
