In a recent interview with People, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story actress Drew Sidora, 30, opened up about being forced to call off her wedding midpregnancy after her then-fiancé record executive Ricky Brascom decided that he no longer wanted to be with her.

“All of a sudden, we went from planning a wedding and him being excited to him being really distant,” she explained the 2011 breakup. “I didn’t know what was going on. One day, he just said, ‘I want to be single.’ I was, like, ‘What? We have a child on the way.'”

Not wanting to force things, Sidora explains that she decided to let go. She left their home in Los Angeles and moved back to Chicago to be with her parents.

“How embarrassing. How hurtful. At that moment, I was, like, ‘If you don’t want me, I’m not going to push my way into something with you.'”

She later learned that Brascom had been arrested. He was eventually convicted of charges relating to drug trafficking.

“I felt like I had been tricked. I started to question my own judgment. I started asking myself, ‘How did I miss that?’”

“I had major trust issues, and I probably sabotaged a lot of potential relationships because of it,” she continued. “But when I delivered [my son Josiah], there was just this overwhelming joy. And if that is what I had to go through to get my son, it was so worth it.”

Just two years later, the actress met the man she now calls her “knight in shining armor.” While in Los Angeles promoting a movie, business consultant Ralph Pittman, 32, stepped in to help her son Josiah after a football he was playing with got away from him.

“He ran and got the football and said, ‘Aw, little man. You got a football? I played football. Let’s play football,'” she recalled. “So, I was just standing there, and he didn’t even see me.”

The two eventually struck up a conversation and exchanged numbers. By June 2014, Pittman delivered a fairytale proposal. He woke “The Game” actress up before dawn and escorted her to the roof of his building where he’d set up Tiki torches, rose petals and champagne. He then whipped out his iPad and played footage from their first date, a recording of Justin Timberlake’s “Not A Bad Thing,” and a video of him asking Josiah if he could “be his daddy.”

“Then she just broke down in tears,” recalled Pittman. “So I pulled out the ring, and I asked, ‘What do you think is in this box?’ And she said through her tears, ‘A pair of earrings?’ I was, like, ‘It’s a little more than earrings.'”

Of course, Sidora said yes. Two months later, the couple tied the knot during an intimate beach ceremony. In August, they will welcome their first child together. It’s a boy!
