15 Celeb Kids Following In The Footsteps Of Their Parents
When you have a father at the top of the box office or an Emmy-winning mother, it can be intimidating when trying to decide if you should follow in your parents’ footsteps or journey out and do your own thing. These celeb kids decided to follow the lead of their parents and prove that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Willow and Jaden Smith
Jaden is like the 2015 reboot of his father, Will Smith: rapper, actor, but also a social media guru. This teenager decided at an early age that he wanted to follow in his dad’s footsteps and so far, so good. Like the rest of us, he loves his father and is not shy about sharing that with the world.
“My dad is awesome. I wouldn’t be where I am right now if it wasn’t for all of the things he’s taught me,” Jaden, who recently got his learner’s permit, tells Billboard. “He’s taught me a lot about driving and just about life. And I love his songs, I go back and re-listen to those songs and the newer songs he’s made in the studio too.”
Like her brother, 14-year-old Willow has decided to pursue a career in entertainment. Inspired after touring with her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her band, Wicked Wisdom, Willow has gone on to release the hit single “Whip My Hair,” and other unique songs like “Your Love,” “Flowers,” and her most recent release, “F Q-C #7.”
With a former model for a mom (Kim Porter), a famous dad (Al B. Sure), and a stepdad who is one of the most successful hip-hop moguls of all time (Diddy), Quincy Brown has been destined for fame since the womb. He is getting ready to release some new music this month entitled, “Exotic.” And next month you can catch Brown, A$AP Rocky, and Zoë Kravitz in the much-hyped film, Dope.
Connor Cruise decided to follow in the famous footsteps of his superstar father, Tom Cruise, and Academy Award-winning mom, Nicole Kidman, and become an actor. In 2008, Connor played a young Will Smith in the film Seven Pounds. Four years later, Connor joined the cast of the rebooted ’80s action film Red Dawn alongside Chris Hemsworth. Now that he’s dipped his toe in the acting world, Connor is moving on and hopes to partner up with his stepfather, Keith Urban, on a new music project.
The daughter of A Different World actress Lisa Bonet and rocker Lenny Kravitz has followed in both her parents’ footsteps. In her short movie career, she has already starred in mega blockbusters (Divergent franchise, X-Men: First Class and the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road). Kravitz is also taking over the world of indie music with her critically-acclaimed electro-pop band, Lolawolf. The trio have toured internationally with Miley Cyrus and Lily Allen.

When Lil Wayne is your pops, you can be assured that life will always be interesting. Being the daughter of a celebrity certainly comes with its perks and one of them is options. For Reginae’s sweet sixteen last year, she received not one, but two whips from Weezy—a Ferrari and a BMW. An up-and-coming singer, Reginae is also one of the youngest artists signed to Young Money Entertainment. No word on whether or not her dad’s feud with her godfather, Birdman, will affect her music career.
NBA legend David Robinson must be so proud of his son Justin, who will take his basketball career to the next level when he joins the Duke University basketball team next season. The 6′ 7″ baller had this to say about becoming a part of the legendary team:
“I’m happy to get early decision from Duke since it is so amazing academically,” he said. “It’s been a long time dream for me. The opportunity to be a preferred walk-on is exciting and I’m looking forward to being a part of the Duke Basketball tradition.”

These young ladies have already followed in Kimora Lee Simmons’ footsteps by walking the runway and attending Fashion Week with their father, mogul Russell Simmons. The girls are currently focusing on their studies at the Mirman School, a private facility for kids with IQs of 145 and above.

These adorable youngsters made their debut in the entertainment world in a big way: modeling for Gucci. These cuties may be a long way from pursuing the mogul status of their mom, Jennifer Lopez, or the crooning success of their father, Marc Anthony, but they may very well be the cutest set of twins ever to grace a Gucci ad campaign.
The daughter of actress/model LisaRaye McCoy, Morae is working hard to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. One of the former stars of LisaRaye: The Real McCoy, Kae is currently pursuing a career in modeling. She wants the world to know, “I’m one of those girls that has her head on straight that has beauty and brains and [I’m] going to do something with it.”
Last year, Bishop made her modeling debut, and it was a tremendous success that led to even bigger opportunities abroad. And just last month, the model performed her father Jamie Foxx’s hit “Gold Digger” in front of a large audience. Perhaps, she’ll become a multi-hyphenated entertainer like her father some day.
Diana Ross has a very talented family. Her daughter Tracee Ellis Ross is crushing the comedy game on Blackish while her son Evan is following in her footsteps pursuing both an acting and singing career. In December 2014, the Insurgent actor released a music video for his single, “How to Live Alone,” which features his legendary mama and his wife, singer Ashlee Simpson.
