Somebody Call VH1! Stars Who Need Their Own Reality Show
Who doesn’t love this beautiful image of the Knowles and their extended family and friends? The only thing better would be an hour-long reality show that followed Queen Bey, her sis, and her fabulous family as they possibly argued over photos, wedding food, and nearly missed a meltdown when Solange’s “Just Married” bicycle caught a flat on the way to the reception.
While we may never get an uncensored look into the lives of some of our favorite celebs, it doesn’t mean we can’t do a fantasy draft of the top 15 celebs who we think need reality shows. Get on it, VH1!
Jay Z and Beyoncé
No doubt, a reality show featuring the Carters would draw bigger numbers than the season finale of Empire. Wouldn’t you love to see Blue Ivy learning to speak fluent French as Beyoncé plots her next surprise album release, and Jay Z desperately tries to arrange another massive Tidal meeting?
Instagram videos and Twitter clapbacks may be as close as we’re ever going to get to a Rihanna reality show, but you can’t blame us for wanting it. Those little 15-second clips on the ‘gram of her twerkin’ it out make everyone wish they could kick it with Ri Ri. Her exploits with her bestie Melissa and their crew would be so scandalous, they’d have to revive BET after dark to air it.
A show focusing on Drake’s life would definitely be entertaining. Between stalking his favorite basketball team, dropping mixtapes, bonding with the OVO crew, and dinner dates with his mom, Drizzy’s show would be one for the record books.
Amber Rose and Blac Chyna
This show may actually be coming to a VH1 lineup soon. A show featuring the best friends and their host of reality show-friendly drama would trend heavily on Twitter. Twerk offs, fighting the Kardashians, poppin’ off at Tyga, will they/won’t Amber reunite with Wiz, all while raising their beautiful boys, would make The Amber And Chyna Show must-see TV. Might as well set those DVRs now.
Tyrese is an actor, singer, and all about dishing self-improvement advice. If he had a show, it would be on OWN after Iyanla: Fix My Life. While he is undoubtedly trying to lead a positive life, his penchant for poppin’ off on his haters via Twitter shows that there is some reality-show drama brewing under that fine surface. Bring it on, Tyrese!
Willow and Jaden Smith
The Smith kids are unique, independent, and highly watchable. When Jaden isn’t acting in major blockbuster movies, he’s rapping, rocking whatever attire he pleases, and posting cryptic messages on Twitter. Willow has proven to be a Renaissance chick, dipping her toe in music, modeling, and whatever else she fancies.
You just never know what these kids will do next, but you do know that whatever it is, it will have people talking.
Solange is included on this list because a personality this big could not share a show with her sister and brother-in-law. Solange is fearless, trendsetting, and very talented. With her adorable son and husband, the globetrotting sista could teach us a thing or two. Maybe we’d even get the real reason behind that infamous elevator fight…
The notoriously press-shy Marshawn Lynch keeps it 100 at all times. This only makes everyone more curious about what his life is like outside of football. Imagine following him as he trains for the big game and getting to see what it looks like when Beast Mode cuts loose off the field. Somebody get this man a truckload of money (and some Skittles) and make this happen!
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
The adorable newlyweds have given us little tastes on Instagram and Twitter of what life inside the Wade household is like, but 15-second video clips are not enough! We would love to see Dwyane and Gabrielle dealing with their new life together. Plus, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the NBA, and the set of Being Mary Jane would rock!
Ms. Badu is all about self-expression, making beautiful music, and raising her kids, but when you make her mad she does not hold back. Her best tweet is reason enough to want to see what actually goes on in the life of the songstress:
“Look.. I choose peace but , say… Don’t walk up on me wrong.. This Tea and Incense can turn into Colt 45 and Newports if NEED be.. OK?”
Rachel Roy and Dame Dash
The drama between Rachel Roy and Dame Dash is the stuff of reality TV producers’ dreams. The bitter custody dispute between the former couple came to an end on Monday, with Rachel Roy being awarded custody of the couple’s two daughters. She also received a three-year restraining order against Dash.
A Chris Brown reality show needs no explanation. With drama at his doorstep on the daily, the opinionated new father would make for excellent reality TV. If his Twitter and Instagram feeds are any indications, he would not hold back when it comes to sharing his truths.
Bow Wow, Erica Mena, and his mom
Like the Amber Rose and Blac Chyna show, I have a strong feeling that VH1 will pick this series up. Bow Wow and Love & Hip Hop vet Erica Mena recently revealed that they live in the basement of the home he shares with his mother, Teresa Caldwell. What wouldn’t go wrong? This is the exact recipe for riveting reality TV.
Fights with Baby over his Cash Money legacy, a slew of baby mamas, going to war with Young Thug, Christina Milian, and an on-call tattoo artist (and loctician) would make this a show a surefire hit.
DeVon Franklin and Meagan Good
Watching Franklin and Good balance Hollywood and God could be a significant addition to the OWN channel. Maybe it could come on after the Tyrese show! Either way, we’re nosy and wouldn’t mind seeing what married life is like for the actress.
