15 Of The Most Awkward Celebrity Kisses In History
Was Drake and Madonna’s awkward Coachella moment one of the worst celebrity kisses in history? You would think so until you see these celebrity smooches.
From Shemar Moore kissing Sweet Brown to a reporter trying to lock lips with Will Smith, we’ve got some of Hollywood’s most awkward moments here so you can be the judge.
Drake And Madonna
Drake has already said that his “yuck” face was over the taste of Madonna’s lipstick and not her kiss. Unfortunately, that explanation isn’t enough to keep this viral moment from being one of the most cringe worthy of 2015.
Fantasia and Jamie Foxx
Remember this kiss from the BET Awards in 2006? What initially appeared to be a planned kiss during Foxx’s performance of “DJ Play A Love Song” turned into a hot and heavy (and uncomfortable) moment that millions of viewers watched.
Jamie Foxx later told the Chicago Tribune that he didn’t mean to expose us all to quite so much PDA: “I didn’t expect it to be that intense, but I didn’t mind it either.”
Personally, I blame that song.
Jamie Foxx And Halle Berry
It must be really hard to keep your hands off of Jamie Foxx because just three years after his Fantasia moment, Halle Berry French kissed the hell out of Foxx.
Things got so handsy that we’re pretty sure they started that fire backstage while everyone watching Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards squirmed uncomfortably in their seats.
What did Foxx have to say for himself this time? “My life will never be the same.”
Shemar Moore And Sweet Brown
Of all the people we thought we’d see making out on stage, Shemar Moore and Sweet Brown weren’t a pair we saw coming. And we certainly weren’t prepared for just how much kissing they did once they locked lips on Watch What Happens Live.
Check out the clip and get ready to gag.
Seth Rogen And Megan Fox
For a while there in 2007, the role actor Seth Rogen was most known for was his part in this epic rejection moment during a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live. They even slowed the moment down so you can’t miss Fox’s cool “didn’t see you” and Rogen’s dejected disappointment.
Will Smith And This Reporter
This reporter/prankster added “slapped by Will Smith” to his resume in 2012 when he tried to kiss the actor right on the mouth after a red carpet interview. But Smith didn’t think it was funny. After smacking the man, he walked away and said, “He’s lucky I didn’t sucker punch him.”
George W. Bush And Oprah
Look up “thank you but no thank you” in the dictionary and you’ll see this picture right next to it. This moment from Oprah’s 2000 interview with George “Dubya” Bush was so awkward that people started calling it Bush’s Smoochy Coup.
Oh 2000, you’re adorable.
50 Cent And Erin Andrews
We’re sure there are millions of people dying to kiss Curtis Jackson on the lips. Unfortunately, based on this awkward viral moment, reporter Erin Andrews wasn’t one of them.
But like Drake, Andrews said it was all a misunderstanding:
“I went one way, he went the other. They’re screaming in my ear, ‘Danica! Danica! Go get Danica!’ I whipped my neck. I made him look bad.”
Jenny McCarthy And Justin Bieber
In a moment straight out of Cougar Town, funny lady Jenny McCarthy got so handsy with Justin Bieber at the 2012 American Music Awards that the singer ended up saying, “Wow. I feel violated right now.”
But Jenny McCarthy said she wasn’t ashamed or sorry: “I did grab his butt. I couldn’t help it. He was just so delicious. So little. I wanted to tear his head off and eat it.”
Christina Aguilera And Justin Bieber
Apparently what goes around really does come around. Just a few years after his handsy encounter with Jenny McCarthy, Bieber found himself on the giving end of an unwanted kiss. We don’t know if Aguilera knew she was making such a face of distaste, but she didn’t want any of his smooches.
Ian Somerhalder and Ariana Grande
This awkward viral moment from the 2014 Teen Choice Awards makes it look a lot like actor Ian Somerholder had been waiting forever for the opportunity to plant a kiss on Ariana Grande. Sadly, Grande did her best to politely avoid it.
Erykah Badu And This Reporter
During this Pix 11 report in New York, Erykah Badu came out of nowhere to plant a kiss on this reporter’s cheek. But not only did Badu get the hard brush off, the reporter didn’t even recognize her: “Couldn’t avoid a fan just now.”
Thankfully, Badu later saved him from embarrassment by sending him an apology message on Twitter to clear things up. Reporter Mario Diaz took it all in stride Tweeting, “Next time I won’t do the NYC push back.”
Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus
Katy Perry may have kissed a girl and liked it — but that clearly wasn’t the case at this Miley Cyrus concert.
Perry would go on to say that her “yuck” face was 100 percent authentic. She really was grossed out:
“She has this one part where it’s like a kiss cam, and I just walked up to her to give her like a friendly girly kiss, you know, as us girls do, and then she like, tried to move her head and go deeper and I pulled away. God knows where that tongue has been. We don’t know! That tongue is so infamous!”
Luckily these two were able to patch things up later on Twitter. But hopefully Perry made it clear that she just wants to be friends.
Diddy and Bono
We don’t know who regrets this accidental lean in more: Bono or Diddy. But we do know that everyone in the Twittersphere agreed that this awkward moment was one of the best things about the 2014 Golden Globe Awards.
