Snoop Dogg Will Executive Produce A New Drama Series For HBO

March 21, 2015  |

Snoop Dogg may have a new passion.

According to several reports, the veteran rapper has signed on to executive produce a new series with HBO. The news, comes just days after an appearance on FOX’s hit series, Empire.

The untitled-series will be set in the 1980s and revolve around a family from Los Angeles, “whose seemingly idyllic life is turned upside down by the collision of their community and American politics.”

In addition to Snoop, Rodney Barnes, former executive producer of Everybody Hates Chris and The Boondocks, has also signed on to produce the project.

There has been no word on a premiere date or if Snoop will star in the new show. Either way, we’re happy to see more diversity behind the camera.

Congratulations Snoop!
