Shante Bacon, Will Packer Honored At Black Women Film Summit

One of our favorite PR ladies has received a much-deserved award for her contributions to the film industry. Shante Bacon, Founder & CEO of 135th Street Agency, was honored with the Creative Award by the Black Women Film Network at the organization’s “Untold Stories Luncheon” in Atlanta this past weekend.

Shante and her agency have been the driving promotional force behind a number of hit films in recent years, including Lee Daniels’s The ButlerDjango UnchainedThink Like a ManTransformers, and Avengers. Honored alongside Shante were film producer Will Packer, casting director Robi Reed, Black Women Film Network Chairman Emeritus Tomika DePriest, Georgia Film & TV Sourcebook publisher Tia Powell, the Georgia Production Partnership, and actors Lamman Rucker and Logan Browning.

The luncheon was hosted by comedian Jonathan Slocumb with music provided by DJ Salah Ananse. Notable attendees included Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kandi Burress and Todd Tucker; V103 personalities Ryan Cameron and Stacii Jae; Being Mary Jane’s Brely Evans, D.
