“She’s In A Different Place Now”: Erica Mena Avoids L&HHNY Reunion; Bow Wow Confirms She Quit Show To Be With Him
It’s interesting when people who used to start the most drama on reality TV decide they no longer want to take part in it. Evelyn Lozada made such a decision, Chrissy Lampkin did too, and now, Erica Mena is joining the I-don’t-do-reunions-with-people-I-hate-so-I-quit club.
The future Mrs. Shad Moss first had the chance to come on the show after she tried to trash Kimbella Vanderhee in season two for being what she considered less than a video model. That encounter ended in glasses being thrown and hair being pulled–and Mona Scott-Young realizing that she had to cast Mena on the show.
But as season five comes to an end, Mena decided that she wanted no parts of the reunion because she’s over the drama. A source close to the reality personality claims that because so many people from this season’s cast were brought on because of their issues with her (Chrissy Monroe, Cyn, and reportedly Johnni Blaze), she decided that she didn’t want to deal with that level of negativity and the possible attempts to jump on her. As the source told Bossip:
“A lot of people cast this season were cast because of beef with her. Erica was pretty much sick of the deflecting and the projecting of off[sic] other people’s negativity.
She’s about to be somebody’s wife and she didn’t want to put herself in the type of space where that could happen. She didn’t want to put herself in a place where she has to act negative. She’s in a different place now.”
So instead, Mena reportedly filmed a private reunion interview with Mona Scott-Young in advance and celebrated her son’s birthday in Florida on Tuesday, the day that the reunion with the rest of the cast was filmed.
And Shad Moss (Bow Wow) confirmed that his fiancée has officially parted ways with the show and has other things on her plate. He revealed this while talking to Access Hollywood this week about his new show, “CSI: Cyber.” The rapper and actor films in LA, so Mena is leaving New York behind to be with her boo.
“Well now she’s done, so she’s out here now full-time. She has some great things coming as well. She has HER, her clothing line she’s running. She’s branching that out. She’s doing a lot of big things too and she’s looking forward to the move. She’s actually on the plane on her way here right now.”
But this isn’t a shocker considering that she made it clear that once this season was over, she was done. She told VIBE not too long ago that she wanted to focus on being a wife and mother:
“It’s time to be a wife. It’s time to be the woman my man needs. My man don’t need a girl that’s on TV, my man needs a girl by his side. That’s really what it’s about right now for me. It’s kind of bittersweet, this whole process, especially filming this last season. Even though there’s still the Erica Mena crazy stuff going on, this really is the best season ever for me.”
