Tinder Makes Users Over Age 30 Pay More
Tinder has announced a premium paid version, Tinder Plus, that will raise the price to look for love for people over the age of 30. The premium version will have the Passport and Rewind features and unlimited likes. Of the changes, Tinder told Quartz in a statement:
“Lots of products offer differentiated price tiers by age like Spotify does for students, for example. Tinder is no different; during our testing we’ve learned, not surprisingly, that younger users are just as excited about TinderPlus, but are more budget constrained, and need a lower price to pull the trigger.”
Tinder Plus, which was released Monday, costs $19.99 for those who are 30 and older. For Tinder users who are in their 20s or younger, the cost will be $9.99.
Although Tinder is free, dating options are slimmer. With the Tinder Plus app consumers will be able to change their location to match with people around the world. In their Tinder Plus promotional (below), Tinder does a good job at advertising how electrifying your dating life can be no matter what your location is.
Rewind will also allow users to revert back to their last swipe so they don’t miss a potential match. As with any dating service, a consumer can cancel at any time and Tinder can be used on any device.
Do you think people older than 30 should pay extra for Tinder Plus?
