Would You Watch? Boris Kodjoe And Nicole Ari Parker Get Their Own Talk Show On Fox
After all the success they’ve had with talk shows like “The Real” and “The Wendy Williams Show,” not to mention series with black leads like “Empire” and “Sleepy Hollow,” Fox is diversifying the hell out of their TV lineup again. Another new addition to their programs, albeit a surprising one, is “The Boris and Nicole Show,” starring Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker.
According to Shadow and Act, Fox has ordered a test run of a talk show starring the couple that will debut this summer and run for four weeks. The program, which will be an hour long, will only air on select Fox stations in certain markets during its test run, including New York and LA. Kodjoe and Parker will co-executive produce the show.
The show will reportedly showcase celebrity interviews. But on top of that, we’ll also get to hear the couple’s perspectives on everything, including parenting, relationships, and of course, current events. It will premiere on July 6.
In a statement, Kodjoe says it’s only right that they take their relationship to TV since they fell in love on the small screen (on “Soul Food”):
“We met and fell in love on screen so any time we get to work together we know it will be a lot of fun.”
Not only will it be fun, but according to Parker, it will be informative, because the couple love to debate important issues, which they will now do in front of an audience.
“There are so many things that we are passionate about so we are thrilled that we will now have a platform to share these issues with an audience.”
So get ready for this summer treat! If you’ll recall, “The Real” went through a test run in the summer of 2013. Now the show is nationally syndicated and has finally hit its stride to find success. If the support is there for “The Boris and Nicole Show,” the pair could have similar results in a very competitive and cramped talk show market.
The question is, would you watch a talk show hosted by these two?
