Evan Ross Talks Life As A Stepdad & The Upcoming Birth Of His Daughter

- By

Evan Ross has grown up to be such a nice young man. Last fall he became a husband and now the 26-year-old actor is preparing for the birth of his first child. During a recent appearance on “Wendy,” he opened up about his wedding, the upcoming birth of his daughter and what it’s like being a stepdad to his wife Ashlee Simpson’s son, Bronx. Check out some highlights from his interview below.

On his mom handling his wedding:

“She is incredible, she handled the whole thing. Her and Ashlee’s mom, Tina, pretty much put the whole thing together. It was unbelievable.”

On his mom singing at his wedding:

“We actually didn’t know she was going to perform. She actually told us, ‘Evan, stop telling people I might perform.’ She sang ‘Endless Love’ for us, which was amazing. Just to us two. It was really amazing.”

On his mom crying during the ceremony:

“She did cry. When she was marrying us she cried. She was officiating, yeah.”

On his wife’s pregnancy:

“[We’re expecting a baby girl], yeah.”

On baby names:

“We have a few ideas, but we’re keeping that for us. No, it’s not going to be [a Hollywood baby name like] Apple, Orange or anything like that. We got some ideas. It’s going to be different though.”

On being a stepdad:

“It’s amazing. I can’t tell you how incredible that child is. He’s unbelievable. He’s been a blessing in my life and I’ve learned so much from him. He was excited [when me and Ashlee got married] because he was my friend. We became like homies, buddies. He was excited. He was at the wedding and we were like this is as much your wedding as it is ours. And he loves Mama D, so it’s cool.”
