Jodeci is really serious about this comeback, ya’ll!
After performing at The Soul Train Awards and putting out the new song, “Every Moment,” the group just released the video for the single, “Every Moment.” It’s the first official single from their upcoming album, The Past, The Present, The Future. The new album, which features some production from Timbaland (who used to be mentored by DeVante Swing by the way), is due to hit stores on March 31.
The clip, which is directed by Hype Williams, was shot in Aspen, Colorado. Each member of the group can be seen posted up in the snow with some type of luxurious fur on, as a woman with a big floor-length coat and even bigger eyelashes stares longingly into the camera. As the clip comes to a close, the men are seen singing together in full ski gear, and doves are released. To say the clip is dramatic is something of an understatement, but when you’re trying to make a big comeback, anything less would probably just be lazy.
As for the song itself, it’s not bad. The production is what stands out most, as something about it (the keyboards/synthesizers) does remind me of throwback Jodeci records. But is it all (video included) enough to encourage you to support a new album 20 years later?
