“America’s Next Top Model” Contestant Mirjana Puhar Dies In Triple Homicide
“America’s Next Top Model” cycle 21 contestant Mirjana Puhar has passed away. The 19-year-old’s death was confirmed on Instagram this morning.
“It has been confirmed,” a loved one informed fans an hour ago. “Everyone keep family and friends in prayer. Everything is still under investigation.”
According to TMZ, Puhar was killed in a triple homicide along with her boyfriend, Jonathan Alvarado, 23, and his roommate and best friend, Jusmar Gonzaga-Garcia, 21. Apparently, Puhar recently moved in with the guys.
A friend of Puhar told TMZ that she’s actually the one who discovered the bodies of her friend and Alvarado inside of the North Charlotte home Tuesday night. She did not see the third victim, Gonzaga-Garcia, but she did say that she saw money scattered around the house.
An exact motive for the killings has not been disclosed at this time, but according to WSOC Charlotte, investigators believe that the trio was specifically targeted.
“I can tell you that this was not a random act of violence,” Lieutenant Alex Watson told reporters Tuesday night. “There’s a lot of work to be done on the scene right now. Some interviews of some individuals and we’ll be [offering updates] as soon as we can.”
A suspect, who is being identified as Emmanuel Jesus Rangel, has since been arrested and charged in the killings. He is facing three counts of first degree murder.
We send our prayers to all of the families affected by this terrible tragedy.
