Kanye West recently stopped by Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club and he did not hold his tongue one bit. The rapper spoke on just about everything including his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose’s feud with the Kardashian clan, why he rides so hard for Beyonce and the controversy surrounding Tyga’s relationship with Kylie Jenner. Check out a few highlights from his chat below, but please brace yourself.
On if he feels he should reach out to Amber:
“She’s just soaking in the moment. I don’t feel compelled to do nothing. If Kim dated me when I first wanted to be with her there wouldn’t be a Amber Rose.”
On if Kim sent him inappropriate texts while he was with Amber:
“I wish. I would have gladly, happily would’ve liked to. It’s very hard for a woman to want to be with someone who was with Amber Rose. She wasn’t sending nothing. I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim. Don’t ask me no more [laughs] I just want to be respectful.”
On if Tyga and Kylie Jenner’s relationship is inappropriate:
“I think he got in there early; he’s being smart. They closer in age than a lot of relationships that I know. I knew Tyga was smart.”
On the Kardashian brand’s impact on his business affairs:
“It’s helped. It shows my ability to bridge the gap.”
On Kim’s Paper magazine shoot:
“Respected art can break class. One of the things that shut up a lot of people is the fact that Jean-Paul Goude took the photograph. He used to shoot Grace Jones and Grace Jones’ figure was as new and different as Kim’s physique was. Our position of power, we’re not going to accept the physique that was given to us. The one that was told to us was the proper way to look. My daughter has a chance of being shaped like my wife. Between this age she is now until the age when she’s like that, I’m going to be fighting for that shape to be considered the highest of class or at least equal to how someone looks at a skinny model.”
On why he rides so hard for Beyoncé:
“It’s really ironic that every time [I speak out about award shows] it’s Beyoncé. For some reason…why is it Beyoncé? Why don’t I go off on like you know, whoever is going off on my wife on Twitter and sh-t like that? Why do I cater to…you know I think Beyoncé is a great representation of an artist working hard and trying her best and getting the results from it. Beyoncé’s previous album wasn’t as well received as this new album. She went low like I went low on my album and delivered something that everybody loves. In America, we have to respect greatness when we see it.”
“You can’t have somebody hit all the shots and you not give them that credit […] People look at Beyoncé and say because she’s rich—respect to Hov—but she’s a beautiful woman, she’s talented and they figure she’s got everything so she doesn’t need nothing else. I think she needs the proper accolades because she’s an inspiration.”
