#SelenaQuintanillaForMAC: Petition Launched For Selena Inspired MAC Cosmetics Line

February 18, 2015  |

If you grew up in the 1990s you know Mexican-American singer Selena was iconic for not only her musical talents but for her natural yet captivating beauty and style. With hits like “Como La Flor” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” and the outfits to match, Selena had every woman (and little girls) no matter their race or ethnicity wanting to become a triple threat like her. In honor of her legacy, Selena fans have launched a petition for MAC to pay homage to the late Latina singer by debuting her own makeup line. In their Change.org petition, fans note how many YouTube makeup tutorials have been created in order for women to get the perfect “Selena” look.

In order to join this movement, sign the petition and take a picture of yourself using your favorite MAC products and upload it to Instagram or Twitter with the handle @MACCosmetics along with the hashtag #SelenaQuintanillaForMAC. Last year, a fan of Oscar award winner Lupita Nyong’o launched a petition and Twitter hashtag trend titled #LupitaForMAC. Although it received much attention, the actress/producer signed an endorsement deal with Lancome instead. Hopefully similar results will prevail for this Selena-inspired cosmetics line. Currently 19,467 people have signed the petition.
