If you’ve been on social media at all this weekend, chances are you’ve stumbled across images of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s baby girl, North West, having full-fledged tantrums at multiple New York Fashion Week runway shows. As previously reported, Nori’s first breakdown occurred at her daddy’s Adidas show last week.

Kanye recently spoke out about Nori’s little episode and according to Necole Bitchie, he had a rather interesting explanation.

“Maybe she was just scared for her daddy,” West reportedly said backstage. “She just wanted people to stop being mean to her daddy because she knows that her daddy loves the world and just wants to make it a more beautiful place.”

Unfortunately, her parents did not learn their lesson and decided against leaving her with a babysitter while they attended the Alexander Wang show the following Saturday. Though little miss thing was dressed to the nines and looking adorable as ever, she was clearly not here for that show either (which we don’t blame her for). Unsurprisingly, another tantrum ensued, but a witness seated near the pint-sized hip hop heiress claimed that there was a far simpler explanation than the one her daddy provided days earlier.

“North was actually so good throughout Alexander’s show but had a moment for one second when she saw a photographer on the other side of the runway with a toy monkey that looked exactly like her favorite one at home,” the source told Perez Hilton. “She is obsessed with it and when she saw the photographer holding the same one, she started crying and reaching out with for it for a few seconds. But then it passed and she was good for the show. After the show, the photographer was really nice and came over and gave her the stuffed animal, and she was happy.”

Of course, we can’t ignore the elephant in the room. Stuffy runway shows are no place for a toddler. But perhaps it will take a few more episodes for her parents to figure that out.
