If Kanye West knows one thing, it’s unique marketing avenues. Remember when he debuted his “New Slaves” by projecting his face on buildings worldwide.
Now he is doing something equally bold for the debut of his “Yeezy 750 Boost” sneakers. He will actually live stream the launch of shoes in theaters across the globe. Through his Adidas deal (he cut ties with Nike two years ago) West will release just 9,000 pairs of his new sneakers with Adidas on February 14. The suede high top kicks come in muted gray-and-white and retail for a whopping $350. Pairs can be reserved by using Adidas’ new app.
The shoes will go into wider release on February 28, which promises to be bigger, but there’s no word how many that will encompass.
The shoes will be presented in New York with a live performance by Vanessa Beecroft, reports The New York Daily News. And the show will broadcast in 50 theaters around the world. And you’ll need a ticket if you want to see it. You can get here.
