As Bobbi Kristina’s life hangs in the balance, Hollywood remembers other celebrities who lost their children before their time.

Sylvester Stallone

In 2012, Sylvester Stallone’s oldest son Sage Moonblood was found dead in his apartment. His cause of death was originally labeled an accidental overdose, but an autopsy revealed that Sage actually died of a heart attack.

Eddie Levert

Soul legend Eddie Levert lost two sons. His son Gerald died of an accidental overdose on prescription medication in 2006. Less than 18 months later, his son Sean died in jail from withdrawal symptoms from the Xanax he was denied while in jail.

Willie Nelson

Legendary musician Willie Nelson lost his 33-year-old son Billy Nelson in 1991. Billy hung himself on Christmas Day at the Nelson family cabin after a long struggle with alcohol and a bout of financial trouble after his father’s bankruptcy.

John Travolta

John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston lost their 16-year-old son Jett in 2009 to a seizure caused by Kawasaki disease.

Mary Tyler Moore

Mary Tyler Moore’s 24-year-old son Richard Meeker Jr. died in 1980 from gunshot wounds. But no one is sure whether Richard purposely shot himself with his sawed-off shotgun or whether it was an accident.

Tameka Foster

Tameka Foster’s 11-year-old son Kile Glover was killed in 2012 after he was hit by a jet ski while tubing on Georgia’s Lake Lanier.

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre’s son Andre Young, Jr. died of a heroin overdose when he was just 20 years old.

Marie Osmond

Marie Osmond’s son Michael died when he was 18. Michael jumped from the 8th floor balcony of his Los Angeles apartment in 1999 after struggling with drugs and depression since he was 12 years old.

Carol Burnett

Carol Burnett’s daughter Carrie Hamilton died of lung and brain cancer in 2002. She was only 38-years-old.

Ben Vereen

Legendary actor Ben Vereen’s daughter Naja was killed in 1987 in a car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Anna Nicole Smith

Controversial celebrity Anna Nicole Smith never fully recovered from the death of her 20-year-old son Daniel in 2006. Anna died just eight months later, also of a drug overdose.

Paul Newman

Actor Paul Newman died in 2008. But before that, he lost his 28-year-old son. Scott Newman lived the life of a drifter, and died of a drug overdose and untreated wounds from a motorcycle accident in 1978.

Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby’s son Ennis Cosby was 27-years old when he was killed in 1997. Bill based his Cosby Show son Theo Huxtable on Ennis.
